With summer coming to an end, Josh, Morgan, Nikki, and I met in Stanley for a weekend of mountain biking. Over the weekend, We rode classic trails in the Stanley area, including Fisher Creek, Elk Meadows, and part of the Stanley Lake Creek Trail.

it can be difficult to find a legitimate camping site in Stanley at any point in the summer. Luckily we found some dispersed camping close to Stanley Lake. It was a quick ride over to the bathrooms and the fishing docks.

On our first day we tackled the first 5 miles of Stanley Lake Creek Trail and Elk Meadows. IT’S pretty sick to leave by bike, from the campsite, and ride these trails.

After riding 5 miles of Stanley Creek Trail as an out-and-back, we rode up the hill and hopped on Elk Meadow Trail.

Ended the day with a swim at the docks

our second day of riding, we drove over and rode Fisher Creek Loop. Somehow I forgot my phone and my camera at camp. thanks Morgan for grabbing a photo with your Fuji Instax. If you have never ridden this trail, its awesome. You climb up Fisher Creek Rd, approx an hour or 90 min. The upper section of single track consists of a descent though old burned forest. the second half of the descent takes you THROUGH some FLOWY wooded sections with good dirt.

We ended the trip by stopping at the Stanley Salmon Festival. We also enjoyed a nice dinner at the Stanley Supper Club.

Cheers
Lawrence
