Ride Photos: Boise Gravel Gala, Long Course 2025

The Boise Gravel Gala (BGG) is Boise’s premier gravel event held in late fall. The BGG courses, regardless of which route you choose to ride, incorporate some of Boise’s steep and rough gravel riding. In the spirit of having a fall event to train for, Ana and I have ridden the long course the last two years. This years course featured a fun 93 mi and 10k of climbing. Starting at Hops and bottles in downtown boise, the course linked Rocky canyon Rd.-> Wild Cat Rd. to Placerville -> Ridge rD to Bogus Basin -> Bogus Basin Rd. to Boise.

2024 v.2025 BGG Rigs – Riding my green Surly Cross-Check on the 2024 long course was no joke. Canti rim brakes and 42mm Specialized Sawtooth tires made for some spicy descents. This year, I was happy to pedal my Surly Krampus. The extra weight was worth having wide rubber and disc brakes, lol.

A batch of photos of the buds and myself descending from Rocky Canyon Road. Shout out to Toji, Boise cycling legend, for being the event photographer this year.

THe long course 2025 changed a bit from last year. new to the course, the wild cat Rd. Section, connected grimes creek to Placerville and added an extra 3k of climbing. Wild cat Rd. may be one of my new favorite sections of gravel in the Boise area.

A little late to the party this year. But, always stoked for a finish.
